Professor Elie Wiesel, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Holocaust survivor, kindly sent the following message to all the students who are participating in this Project:

It is my belief that one who hears a witness becomes a witness in turn. With your knowledge you can be a powerful force in the preservation of memory. One can tell that you understand well the great importance of memory. I hope you hold onto your commitment to bear witness always. Young people like you give me hope for the future.

Wierzę, że ten, kto wysłucha czyjegoś świadectwa, sam z kolei staje się świadkiem danej sprawy. Wasza wiedza daje Wam moc ocalenia pamięci. Widać, że rozumiecie, jak wielkie ma ona znaczenie. Mam nadzieję, że zawsze będziecie trwać przy zobowiązaniu niesienia świadectwa. Młodzi ludzie, tacy jak Wy, dają mi nadzieję na przyszłość.

É minha convicção que aquele que ouve uma testemunha se torna, por sua vez, uma testemunha. Com o vosso conhecimento podeis tornar-vos uma força poderosa na preservação da Memória. Percebe-se que conheceis bem a grande importância da Memória. Espero que se mantenham sempre fiéis ao vosso compromisso de prestar testemunho. Jovens como vós dão-me esperança para o futuro.
